The RF XXS01 AC can be mounted on metal and will withstand repeated autoclave cycles. It is designed to meet FDA requirements and is an ideal solution for RFID enabling surgical instruments. The RF XXS01 AC is round and measures at 0.24 inches in diameter by 0.1 inches thick with a read distance of 5 feet (1,5 m). It is biocompatible to ensure safety in medical applications and have been tested to survive high heat in repeated autoclave cycles and industrial chemical washes that normally complicate the application of RFID devices.
